A Place in the Sun has seen a whole host of presenters over the year since the first series way back in 2000. It’s hard to believe that this Channel 4 Programme has been around for 22 years. And I hope it’s around for another 22 years. It will be interesting to see which new presenters join the team!
Jasmine Harman
Probably the most well known presenter is Jasmine Harman. She started presenting this show from the early days, alongside presenter Jonnie Irwin. It’s thought that Jasmine is a big part of the show’s success as ratings actually doubled when she joined the show back in 2004. The show is now broadcast in other countries, not just the UK! New Zealand, Europe, Australia and even South Africa can now catch up with this popular programme.
Jasmine loves travelling around the world filming but her favourite location for making the episodes is the Caribbean – she especially loves St Vincent and Barbados.
Her outfits always stand out and make for noteworthy chat on social media platforms especially instagram. Viewers love to check out Jasmine’s latest holiday wear!
She also seems to have a really soft spot for Portugal where she used to live for a while. Before A Place in the Sun, Jasmine worked in the Health Club market – working in the gorgeous Algarve as a marketing manager for a high end health resort. Another thing you might not know about Jasmine is that she is a qualified fitness instructor.
One of the things most remembered about Jasmine may be the episode where she fell into Lake Vinuela.
BBC 1 shows, ‘My Hoarder Mum and Me’ and ‘The Zoo Next Door’ are two other shows where Jasmine has appeared and contributed to.
Health and wellbeing still play a big part in her life and she enjoys boxercise and salsa to keep fit.
Vegan Jasmine is the eldest of 7 children so she loves catching up with her family when not away filming. She also loves spending time with her own family in East London where she lives with her husband Jon and their 2 children Joy and Albion.
Ben Hilman
The thing that always stands out with Ben are his array of patterned shirts. He seems to have no end of them in his wardrobe from jungle theme to printed sharks. I have to say I’m a fan! And his hairstyle has changed over the years as well from long and casual to shorter and more groomed.
Ben is an interior designer and property developer so brings great experience to his presenting role on A Place in the Sun.
