Situated on the South coast of Spain, Costa Almeria is a gorgeous seaside region that benefits from a fantastically warm climate and stunning natural scenery. There’s numerous sandy beaches within easy reach, perfect for beach days during the sunny springs and summers. History fanatics and culture enthusiasts will find plenty of historical hotspots to discover in this area, with traditional Spanish architecture and art dotted throughout the region. There’s also so many natural parks and landscapes to discover nearby. The Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata-Nijar is a coastal reserve home to unforgettable seascapes, where there’s impressive rock formations stretching into the sea. There’s also the in-land Sierra Nevada National Park, an unspoiled mountain-scape where the views from the top are simply breath-taking.
In 2022, during the episode from 10th April, Danielle and Matt were looking for a holiday home in Costa Almeria, in Spain. They had a budget of £80,000, and had in mind a three-bedroomed property with a communal pool near the beach. Ben Hillman helped them purchase a two-bedroomed apartment in Vera Playa for £91,667. The area itself is built in an Andalusion style, creating a beautiful area to live in. The property itself had fantastic facilities, including the sought-after spacious bedrooms and outdoor areas. There were three communal pools as well as a spa centre.
In this episode there were some other fantastic properties that the couple could have chosen from. In Mojacar, there was a three-bedroomed golf apartment valued at £79,125. The living space at this apartment was open and airy, with a separate well-equipped kitchen. The apartment also had two bathrooms. In Palomares there was a two-bedroom apartment that celebrated the Spanish sun, with a wrap-around terrace framed by picture-perfect countryside views. Valued at £82,500, the apartment’s bedrooms were light and spacious and there was also a communal pool for residents.
In May 2021, Gary and Jennifer were looking for a holiday home near Vera with their £55,000 budget. Ben Hillman helped them find five brilliant properties to choose from. In Valle del Este Resort, a two-bedroomed apartment at £59,825 was available. There’s 700 homes at this complex, a mixture of family homes and holiday flats. The Spanish countryside can be seen from the balcony, which is accessible from the large master bedroom. There’s also a second double room and bathroom. The Spanish sun can be enjoyed from the property’s roof terrace, which also boasts amazing views of the unspoiled scenery.
Another option was the two-bedroomed apartment in Vera Playa, a peaceful and laid-back area with thriving flora and fauna. The beach was only a 20-minute walk from this apartment, valued at £64,957. The living and dining space was open-plan and spacious, with separate kitchen and utility room so that there’s plenty of space for meal prep. Home cooked meals can be enjoyed from its balcony or roof terrace, perfect for the afternoon siesta.
The least expensive option was valued at £51,282, an apartment in Vera that’s only a short drive from town and the beach. The interior still offered plenty of space, and there’s also a large balcony and communal roof terrace for residents to sit and enjoy the sunny weather. Residents can also use the underground parking space, another great bonus to this property considering the price.
Penny and Jon were looking for their own holiday home for winter holidays in Spain in September 2021. With a budget of £100,000, and the specification of a beach nearby and a golf course to use, Ben Hillman helped them find their dream property. In Villaricos, there was a beautiful property valued at £103,448. The sea views from the apartment’s balcony made for a wonderfully tranquil setting. Villaricos is a fantastic fishing village with a marina and promenade to explore, as well as plenty of restaurants to sample the local cuisine. A more modern option was the two-bed apartment in Vera Playa, valued at £93,965. It has both two bedrooms and two bathrooms, furnished with modern fittings whilst ensuring its residents can feel at home. This also has a terrace area with sea views.
Alternatively Ben offered them a two-bedroomed apartment in Valle del Este, valued at £112,068. It benefitted from a communal pool, as well as a private garden and terrace for some more privacy. Inside, the living area is bright and homely, with the kitchen being finished with modern furnishings and even having a small courtyard accessible from it. The two bedrooms were cosy whilst offering plenty of room, and one of them had its own en-suite and terrace. In Mojacar Playa, right on the coast, was a two-bedroom and two-bathroom apartment valued at £102,586. With unspoiled countryside views and a lovely pool, it’s a wonderful apartment for those wanting the perfect base to relax in. There’s even a fireplace in the living space, and the kitchen is modern and sleek.
